Class Rules
On the first day of school the students brainstormed a list of rules that they believe students should follow.  As a group we categorized these rules into three different groups, which became our rules.

  • Be respectful
  • Be safe
  • Follow directions

When these rules are not followed, there is a discipline chart in our classroom. This cart follows four steps, and requires the students to move their bananas along the steps when they break a rule.

1.The first stage is just a warning that they are breaking a rule.

2.The second stage is an in class time out. The student is moved to a desk in the corner of the room and is removed from the group for 15 minutes or until the activity is over.

3.The third stage is a out of class time out.  The student is removed from the room for 15 minutes or until the activity is over.

4.The fourth stage is a trip to the principal's office and a pink slip home for disrupting the class.

It should be known that these steps are at the teachers discretion. Stages can be repeated, or skipped as I see fit.
